Pindos: Valia Kalda - Vasilitsa area at 1:50,000in a series of waterproof and tear-resistant hiking maps from Anavasi with a UTM grid for GPS users. The map covers part of the northern Pindus highlands, extending northwards from Metsovo to well beyond Smixi, ski centre on the northern slpes of Mt. Vasilitsa. With Samarina on its western margin the map stretches eastwards to just short of Grevena. Contours are at 20m intervals. Symbols also indicate hostels and mountain refuges. On the reverse is a black and white version of most of the main map highlighting main trails annotated with notes.

Accompanying text provides more information for hikers, including the crossings of the Arkoudhorema ravine section of E6 and of the Vasilitsa ridge. The map has a 1-km UTM grid plus margin ticks and crosshairs for latitude and longitude at 1’. The index of towns and villages is in both Greek and Latin alphabet. Map legend and notes for hikers include English.

Also provided is an overview map of the Pindos National Park with an accompanying text in Greek, plus an extensive list of local accommodation, also in Greek, but with several entries listing their websites. The map comes in a protective cover with more bilingual Greek/English text describing the area.

The map is part of an extensive series of walking maps from Anavasi covering Pindos Mountains and other popular hiking areas of Greece. Contour interval varies depending on the scale, on most maps it is 20m. Relief shading, spot heights, springs, seasonal streams and, in most titles, landscape/land-use variations, e.g. forests, orchards, or vineyards provide additional information on the terrain.

Place names are given in both Greek and Latin script. Local footpaths, hostels and mountain huts are clearly marked. For road users intermediate driving distances and petrol stations are shown. Symbols highlight places of interest, including archaeological sites, churches and monasteries, etc. The maps have a UTM grid and margin ticks for latitude and longitude. Map legend includes English.
