The Aran Islands on a detailed topographic map 1:25,000 from OSI, the Ordnance Survey of Ireland, highlighting hiking trails and locations of archaeological remains, plus a map of the adjoining part of the mainland, information on ferry and air links, etc.
The main map presents the islands with contour lines at 10m intervals and colouring for beaches. Waymarked trails and various antiquities are highlighted; ferry links are marked. Where appropriate, place names are given in both Irish and English versions. ITM (Irish Transverse Mercator) grid lines are drawn at 1km intervals.
Also provided is a map of the adjoining mainland (Galway, Connemara and the Burren) showing ferry links to the Aran Islands, an enlargement of Cill Rónáin / Kilronan, a table with details of ferry and air service operators, plus an administrative map of the Irish Republic and Northern Ireland.
